Who are we?

I wrote the following note on Facebook to a potential new member December 19, 2008 and decided to add a few lines to give a better picture of this network and about KK-Net's intentions and goals.

Dear reader,

KK-Net is an open innovation and collaboration platform for people, entrepreneurs and businesses who like to benefit from doing things together on a 1to1, B2B, B2C or M2M basis.

Join the groups, make friends, talk, share, tell about your activities. The participants are our friends and friends of our friends. We all have as a goal to build a Business Power House that helps the members to improve their own business activities.

The future of forest industry is still clouded. There are many new roads to select. Personally, I think that there will be a future of the the building industry. Paper and packaging will be used as before but there might be a diminishing of demand.

I've been looking into new energy forms for several decades. It's becoming increasingly difficult to differentiate between bioenergy, nuclear power, gas, fossil fuels, wind energy, biofuels, etc. There is no mastermind in the world that could say what is the right choice. I guess the only way to find out is to learn about all the alternatives. It's not going to be cheap. You could also chose passive houses that are able to deliver more energy than they use. Nevertheless, think about the long term - even about energy conservation.

The modern school doesn't use the black board as a central educational tool. At the Valkeakoski high school, the classrooms are like conference centers. This school is one of the most modern in this country.

- there is a Forum
- the traditional layout has been changed

The classrooms are named Anglia, Germania, Babylon, Digitus, Pixel, Tellus and Delta.

The initial shock is now over. Students and teachers have accepted the new high-tech school.

The principal Pasi Syrjä is excited. The jump from the traditional class room format is tremendous.

There are webcams and microphones in the classroom for continuous monitoring of the events in individual classes. Students are able to follow the lectures from their computers at home.

I'm looking at new business prospects in Germany. Berlin could be a good starting point. I'll write more about this later. The picture is here to remind me about where to get started.

I try to understand where this world is heading. This week has involved a lot of travel. The traveling explains my purchase of a new computer with 3G broadband communication wherever I'm.

Didn't have much time to socialize. My brother Helmer is in Australia and wonders why I didn't have the chance to skype with him.

Yesterday, I was working with the innovation train project. My focus was on Helsinki - Hyvinkaa - Riihimaki - Hameenlinna - Tampere.

I'll continue to add new dimensions and stations for the tour to Oulu and back.

As Google begins to see a recovery of its own, the company has begun hiring again and is looking for companies to buy -- both activities that had been held in check for the last year.

Google has been conducting a worldwide sales meeting this week in New York, and Eric Schmidt, the company’s chief executive said, “the mood was very, very positive.”

“The worst is behind us, and we’re seeing aspects of recovery,” Mr. Schmidt told a group of reporters Wednesday morning at the company’s offices in downtown Manhattan. “We’re increasing our investment and hiring rate in anticipation of a recovery.”

The low point for Google’s business, Mr. Schmidt said, came in the spring. Things started picking up in June. Europe did not trail the United States, as many economists had expected, he noted.

Since the recession hit, schoolteachers, interior designers, computer technicians and other people with degrees and jobs you never thought would fail them have fallen victim to what a columnist calls the Great Millennium Recession.

What should be done to re-construct the deep-down-in-recession-world?
