The economical crisis, swineflu and tourism creates a tricky environment for all those who are working within the tourist industry. What are your opinions about the world going nuts, not minding about morale, sustainability, environment and the health of human beings. We run as crazy for the last dollar, yen, yuan or euro on the globe. What did happen to the human being? Have we all lost our minds?

This network has been rather slow in the past weeks. There is an explanation. I've been working with a number of new social network tools. More information will come soon.

I'm testing how the Flickr account delivers to this comment wall.

Tieto NYT:n ongelmista tuntuu pahalta, koska olen tilannut jo muutmaan vuoden ajan NYT:n päivittäisen nettiversion sähköpostiini.

Mietin, paljonko ongelmissa painavat mainostulojen puute, paljonko lehden siirtyminen tilattavien paperinumeroiden sijaan netin kautta ilmaisena luettavaksi. Mikäli jälkimmäinen seikka on merkittävä, pitäisikö sitä kompensoida jonkilanisella nettitilausmaksulla (joka puolestaan saattaisi karsia nettilukijoita)?

I have got very good experiences about ordering of flight tickets and booking of hotel acccommodations in Internet. No matter the current commercials by RyanAir in newspapers do not tell everything ("Riga: 10€" -> total sum of 230 € for 2 persons, including all kind of taxes), it is very easy to order the tickets and print them home. No visits to travelling agencies needed.

There are still some features of net booking which may hinder this practice among older people:

* everything in english
* a credit card needed
* basic skills of Internet usage

I am sure, however, that the comparison of travelling alternatives, collection of maps of target area as well as the booking of flights and hotel rooms in Internet will turn to be more and more popular in the near future.
