Social Media, one to one, one to many, and many to many

Personal interaction over Internet is valuable. Today we have many means for interacting on big scale, using the mass communication features provided by Web 2.0.

A general success principle is that by delivering more value to more people you’ll be more successful. There is a video on this NING telling that selling isn't the way to market in the future. It's not how we display ourself, products and services that count, but how good we are in servicing our clients.

It means that we can do more g… Continue

Hello, thank You for welcoming me. Now I have written som more about me.

Och det är bra att även kunna skriva på svenska även om det faktiskt är nyttigt för min ringrostiga engelska att bli använd.

Hi kknet, I don't know much about Linux development itself in the technical level, but one remarkable phenomena relating to Linux and other open source developmental efforts, is the peoples willingness to give gifts for public good. Activitity that initially started from grassroot activism has now spread into present debates on different flavors of open source license issues, commercial companies opening their formerly proprietary productlines into open source - and even to new type of business strategies that praise open collaboration and development (like Sun Microsystems). Take for instance IBM. Tomorrow I'm attending a course that is IBM:s handshake for university students. IBM provides us hands on material to their database product so that it is very easy for us students to start learning to use the product right away. What has also happened recently is that IBM has a database product (DB2 Express-C 9.5) that can be used freely e.g. in small scale companies. If the company and the information technology needs starts to grow later, then it is only fair for IBM to start charging.

What we are looking at is a phenomena, where real payments in the economy is collected from more established companies and the level of entrepreneurism and creativity in the grassroot level (i.e. startup companies) is supported with gifts that earlier were considered necessarily to be paid for.

I don't know about you, but this type of "economy turning towards gift giving as a business as usual activity" is deffinately something to both encourage and concider in respect to its propable forms in the future.

Hi,

I live in Dallas, but I think Houston is OK but Galveston has been pretty much destroyed. I just arrived from Mumbai, India... 30 plus hours of travel... You can see some experiences at http://drsalonenworldtravel.blogspot.com which is just my personal diary and a way for my kids and wife to track my travel...

Sorry for my delayed response. I arrived from Helsinki yesterday, working with clients and prospects. My book has been very well received and it was in fact selected as a course book for Turun Kauppakorkeakoulu fall's course. Not bad and I am very excited about it. I am planning to work on two additional books.. one to Finnish markets and another one to global markets. I am in the process of looking for an agent here in the US.

Thank you for asking about Profy. Profy is actually a US company but I work from Russia most of the time myself. It rarely matters where exactly you live if your main tools are various social media websites.
