Thanks, Susan! You get detailed information about Mediracer here: www.mediracer.com
Carpal Tunnel syndrome is very common in the autoindustry and for people who have to do repetitive tasks. Computer freaks are also vulnerable. A special group is dentists but there are lots of examples on the blog.
It is already the night between Sunday and Monday here in Finland. My wife and me have watched the results of local government elections tonight. The most rapid way to have information about them is to connect to "www.yle.fi/vaalit", however. Internet is a nice thing!
I use net daily for my contacts to my collaborators, teachers of International Teacher School and friends. Sometimes I have to call them (when it seems that they do not follow net&e-mail) but usually everything works well via net.
My studies in University of Applied Sciences, Jyväskylä, are partly remote ones. We have some lessons in our portal, and every task is presented there. It also helps us to figure out our learning steps and collect our educational outputs. References for my next essay will also be found there. To found basic facts about teaching and education in Finnish, I still visit library from time to time. We also meet in seminars 4..5 times annually - it is still nice to see each other "live" sometimes!
Susan, I'm happy to hear you speaking about the recruit fest in Toronto and while the application was marked "share" I thought it might be a good idea to show what more we can do to improve networking and to learn more about who we are.

I hope Snipwine works here the same way as in the other network where I did see this application for the first time.
Susan, this a great example of how Social Media works. Active people become more and more connected. We learn from each other. I think there is first a learning process and within a certain time interacting people can do real business online. I'm curious about the future business value of social media and virtual organizations.
I am sitting on the shore of a lake in Central Finland where we have our summer cottage. Days get shorter but nights are beautiful! So many stairs above!
I will join R&D projects of paper industry microbiology (my blog: industrymicrobiologist.blogspot.com). It would be nice to hear more about you - what are your activities, what are you working for?
Your question about Twitter. I use Twitter, Jaiku, Pownce, Friendfeed. Twitter is mostly for the English speaking world. Jaiku has more features but my friends are Finnish and Swedish and it's more about Nordic matters. Pownce is a smaller group. Friendfeed has been actual during the past few days when they move Jaiku to a Google server. Friendfeed leads to much deeper seminar communications. I'd like to see more Jaiku features on Twitter.
Thanks for the invitation Helge. I look forward to learning more about your network.
Susan's Bio
Hello. My name is Susan and I am fairly new here to the social networking site as well as new to sourcing and recruiting. My background is quite eclectic - I'm a mutt - primary education is in psychology, and experiences in finance, research, administration, clinical psychology, media and e-commerce. My last full time recruiting position was a sourcing role /internet recruiter at Harvard University - Central HR employment office - providing cost effective online recruiting solutions to all recruiters around the University (esp - hard to fill positions in IT, Research, Admin positions). Although the role was a junior role, I had to compete with 6 other candidates (even those "with" Phds) for this position.. and was honored to have joined the recruiting team. I have been off ramp from the recruiting world to follow my heart to be a primary caregiver for my family while researching (mostly sourcing, marketing, and branding - actually I do wear many hats.. it all depends) for my sister's boutique "pink olive boutique" in NYC. I am currently exploring corporate side of strategic sourcing, talent acquisition, and diversity recruitment efforts in all industries. Interested in Web 2.0 recruiting and sourcing methods and best practices.
My education background include BA in Psychology concentration in behavioral medicine thesis in Chronic Pain studies from State University of New York at Binghamton, pursued Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology studies at University of Rhode Island in skin care research, alcohol and addiction studies at Brown University affiliate,Brown Medical School affiliate, via University of Rhode Island, masters thesis studies in charismatic and transformational leadership in grass root organizations, pursued Masters in Education studies from HUGSE and HR studies via HBS ext courses. Look forward to sharing and learning from one another. Note - I am here exploring social media & recruiting industry (as of Fall 2008)
