The power of social media is that we've through our Russian partners a good idea about the macro economical status of the Russian housing market. However, it's important to understand what the public in general is thinking. 500 to 1000 houses is a small part of the market but we need to understand where the market is on a short and long term basis. Moscow and St. Petersburg are important but the volume of wood raw materials are in Siberia.
Svetlana, I have a question related to individual houses. We're investigating a Finnish-Russian joint venture for the production of one family wooden houses. The target market would be middle class families. Annual production 500 to 1 000 houses and location of production facilities close to log resources. It would include a sawmill, drying facilities, building board manufacturing etc. The main question is what should the price be for family home in dollars in Russia, in your region? What is the current interest rate for home loans? Are there any government incentives?
It were very interesting to hear about your activities and interests. I myself am working on bioscience sector of KK-Net. My wife also shares the interest in bio sector - she is working as a school nurse and is enthusiastic fisherman (-lady)!
My hobbies are drawing (see travellingwitheyes.blogspot.com) and music - my wife and me are singing in a choir. Orthodox church music is very peaceful in the middle of all busy everyday life.
