Innovation Investment Funds

Social media stands for new interactive tools, that enable shared and user generated content in the internet. What could be the role of Wiki, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, Ning, and blogs in the field of building automation?

* pictures
* video-sharing
* digital storytelling

Self-organizing networks makes it possible for engineers, teachers, research and business people, trainers, entrepreneurs, and others interested in social media to network and solve problems together in open collaboration.

* share the work load
* working together over Internet
* organizing work and problem solving

It takes money to make money. I'm sure you have heard that many times before. Maybe it has been your excuse for not starting a Business. Every business is going to need working capital but you don't need to rob a bank. There are numerous ways to fund your new business or future expansion.

The financial crisis has not made the financing of start-ups and second round ventures easy. The investors are going to ask you a lot of questions. One of the most important is how your business is going to produce a healthy revenue stream.

1. You need a business plan
2. Executive report
3. A blog presenting your venture
4. Track record of past performance
5. A list of references
6. Documentation of your product and service
7. Powerpoint presentation (10 slides)
8. Cash-flow 2.0 - how to improve your day to day cash-flow
9. A powerful Partnership Program
10. Good Luck!

Direct investments are divided into buy-outs and technology investments. Our partner raises capital from institutional investors and invests the fund capital, primarily in selected unlisted companies. Typically, after a development phase of two to five years, portfolio companies are exited, either through stock market listings or trade sales. The aim is to achieve the highest possible return on invested capital.

Pulp- and papermills in Chile

Pulp and paper milss in Chile.

As a market for paper products, the population of about 386 million inhabitants of South America does not yet consume as much paper per capita as in developed countries. There is still important room for growth.

As a space for production, the location in the Southern Hemisphere provides good climatic conditions enabling faster forest growth rates than in Northern Hemisphere, which bene fi ts pulp production.

Investments in technology to achieve higher yield from, mainly, eucalyptus planta- tions is one of the main reasons to get to know the evolution of the industry.

Three countries, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay, especially have invested in the industry and are worth discussing in more detail.

The analysis of the PPI evolution in these three countries is justified for they are successful cases, different from other countries in the region, which potentially have the same comparative advantages, such as similar natural resources, as Argentina, Colombia, and Venezuela (Katz et al. 1999 ).

Ligna 2019

The next LIGNA is being staged from 27 to 31 May 2019, and its organizers, Deutsche Messe and the German Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers' Association (VDMA Holzbearbeitungsmaschinen), have announced that exhibitor registrations are coming in at a very pleasing pace.

While opening day is still about a year away, exhibition space at the world's leading trade fair for machinery, plant and tools for the woodworking and timber processing industry is already more than 80 percent booked.

To put that in perspective: LIGNA 2017 featured 1,520 exhibitors and occupied 130,000 square meters (1,400,000 sq. ft.) of display space.

Holz in Hochforme

There's much more new technology at contemporay ski resorts today. Services have been approved. The users are sophisticated, they do stuff on the slopes I never ever dreamt about. Downhill has become a new industry with lots of new experiences, and the quality of the slopes has been dramatically improved.

I've been talking about a next generation real estate project where big industrial buildings could be remodeled into new functions. The idea is to make an integration of many business and social activities into a industrial complex that has ceased to exist. It's a design challenge where open innovation could be used to search and establish the new activities. There are plenty of these in Finland but even more all over the world. Any ideas about how to proceed with and open mind?

Take a look at the world's biggest net value losers before you start to wonder what happened to your own bank account. The times are ruff even for the super rich.

Here is my first long live recording documentation covering the Slush Helsinki 2008. I'll compare notes with Kitti later on. Would be happy to have your comments. I also place this into Social Media. This was a live distance reporting test.

This is a good video about the global economy.

Kai Nyman, you wrote: This new economy will be based on global horizontal communication and cultural strcutures and definitely it will take time to be implemented.

Take a look at what Juha Mentu wrote here about the tradition of search, research, and talking with a big coffee mug in hand within the paper industry before the contemporary social media platforms (eg. Ning).

This is in Finnish: Tapamme etsiä informaatiota muuttuu.
