Quite interesting post! I like healthy lifestyle and such information is always in demand for me. I want to ask did you try CBD? I'm interested in it because I often suffer from stress. I'm returning to the KK-Network with new material that I've been digging from old files. Some of the material goes back to 1981 when I started my first company.

My Magical History Tour is digitizing old overheads and notes with graphical and pictorial content. I try to use my Nokia E71 camera as a documentation tool.

What seemed to be outdated and unfashionable gets a second life when I make quick photographs and make some photoshopping. Reflection is also a great way to learn from past projects, mistakes and successes.

Juha, you write about harmful/hazardous microbes prevention. How well do decision makers in the field of real estate understand the issue of harmful microbes and bacterias in buildings? I come to think about Honeywell as a company supplying air conditioning systems. It might be a good starting point for your knowledge, Histola's resources and PMEU technology. Nevertheless, there are many other companies that could have interest in this field. I remember an American company that I blogged about. Have to look what their message was.

Helge, Histola Research Oy is interested in all kinds of microbiological development projects. In all cases, the sources and input of microbes into the system (a building, a paper machine etc.) shall be mapped and HACCP analysis be done. After that, all efforts shall be focused on the prevention of input and growth of harmful/hazardous microbes and, if this input cannot be avoided, on the fight against these microorganisms inside the target.

These tasks are relatively time-consuming but, in many cases, PMEU method could save working time and give faster results than traditional mb methods.

Juha, you bring up a very important topic about poor ventilation in Finnish buildings. The energy saving goal since the first energy crisis has brought us the darker side of houses that are as tight as bottles.

I cam to think that your expertise should be used by architects and renovators to ensure that they don't make things worse when they start to "dry up" and remove the moisture.

Would Histola Resarch be able to provide such kind of service?

We also spoke about making a microbiological weather map of an industrial site. Would this be bacterial map?

You should probably make a price list of various approaches? What do you think about that?

The indoor air problems have appeared very soon after a delay period of several years, after the rise of energy spare in public buildings. The dependence of these problems on the incorrect ways to build thermal isolations into old buildings like schools and offices is more than obvious. Recent constructions may also suffer of these problems - a well-known example is the relatively new Police Headquarters of the city Jyväskylä.

Not only living but also dead spores of moulds and actinobacteria (previously called actinomycetes) can cause severe symptoms, even asthma. The volatile metabolites (VOCs) may also have a role as a causative agents of symptoms but this topic is still very much discussed and opposite opinions can be heard.

I have discussed with specialists of "sick house syndroms" during last six months. The most important thing is to open all moulded areas of the buildings and repair them. Air cleaners, producing ozone, may help with symptoms but do not correct the original problem. Drying of moist areas of the buildings isn't the final solution, neither, because the release of fungal spores increases in dry conditions.

I am looking forward to hear about improvements of indoor air quality after several reconstructions of public buildings in Central Finland.

There are several challenges when approaching the global market with a new niche product. We've seen that with the Carpal Tunnel Diagnostic Tool, and I gather that Spirometry and Pulmonary Function testing is going to present a comparable challenge.

It's not enough to go out with a message. We've to take care about, how to move to dialogs within other groups as well. It's a multitasking job.

The point is not, how much you say and write, but WHO the people are that you meet in the groups and forums.
