Ostrobothnia, or the Coastline from Kristinestad in the south to Kokkola in the north, covers an area of about 10,000 sq. km.
About 200,000 people live on the Coastline, of which 51 % are Finnish-speaking and 48 % Swedish-speakers.
The area has a strong tradition of entrepreneurship and the largest number of companies per capita on the mainland of Finland.
The export share of approximately 70 % is exceptionally high. Another indicator of the area's strong economy is that the unemployment rate is the lowest in the country.
KK-Net is studying the potential of this region. We participated at the Kokkola Material Week 23. - 26.9.2014 and are now wrapping together old and present findings and experiences. We've been working several companies from this region for more than three decades.
