I stumbeld over an inspiring article in DIE Zeit No 37 8. September 2011 about what Journalists are doing. Journalism is an interesting work. You can be very curious and meet all the people you to write and tell about.
Basically, you've the opportunity to learn all the people on the globe. Not to interview everyone, but to select out a few and write stories about them.
As a journalist, I can travel the world, meet with interesting people, go to places where catastrophes are emerging. Facing warlords or terrorists or having a chat with a Chanson singer in Paris.
