Ecole polytechnique is a famous High School for the training of engineers. This prestigious school is widely-known in France and in the world. It occupies the 62 th place of the 500 best universities of the world according to THE (Times Higher Education) in 2013.

Academic specialization

The University is known for its course Bachelor (4 years) - «Ingenieur Polytechnicien Programme» - Engineer Polytechnic. This course offers an interdisciplinary science education, as well as internship opportunities in various fields - from military research to the business and practical training. 60% of graduate students are an international student.

The university also invites foreign students to obtain a doctoral degree - Ecole Doctorale de L'ecole Polytechnique (EDX). The school provides a variety of internship opportunities and international programs for foreign students. Bachelor students are allowed to conduct their own research in university laboratories (from 3 to 6 months).

Language requirements

Most courses are taught in French. For foreigners, there is an additional opportunity to learn French before and during the academic year. Some courses are taught in English (partly). To obtain a master's degree students are required B2 (upper intermediate level) - the level of the French language.

Location and Transportation

The University is located out of Paris (just 30 minute drive from the city center). The nearest international airport is only a 25 minutes from campus.

Accommodation

The school does not provide a dormitory for all international students, however, help in finding rooms and flats is available to all applicants. Basically, it is the room that is provided by the university partners (La Cite Universitaire Internationale de Paris).

They offer room for 400 euros a month, on the beautiful campus south of Paris, not far from the cultural center.

It is also possible to rent a room at the CROUS social organization (200 euros per month) - their rooms are located in different parts of Paris. Private accommodation in Paris usually ranges from 500 to 800 euros.

The services for students

Outside the Paris School is located at 164h hectares of land, of which 120 hectares - green lawn. On campus there are a variety of cafes and restaurants, serving an average of 4,600 people. Additional amenities include a swimming pool, gym and even a theater.
