"The Girl from Ipanema" ("Garota de Ipanema") written in 1962 by Antonio Carlos Jobim with lyrics in Portuguese by Vinicius de Moraes and in English by Norman Gimbel was recorded by Astrud Gilberto, João Gilberto and Stan Getz, in March 1963 as part of the album Getz/Gilberto, released March 1964 on the Verve label.
It was released as a single, reaching number one on the Pop Standard chart and was named Record of the Year in 1965. The album won the 1965 Grammy Awards for Best Album of the Year, Best Jazz Instrumental Album - Individual or Group and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.
The personel are Stan Getz - tenor saxophone, João Gilberto - guitar, vocals, Astrud Gilberto -- vocals, Antonio Carlos Jobim - piano, Sebastião Neto -- bass, and Milton Banana - drums.
The version presented here is the long one from the album and is, in my opinion, superior to the shortened one which received a great deal of play on the radio during the summer of 1964. The album is available on CD on Verve.

Rio de Janeiro, commonly referred to simply as Rio, is the capital city of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the second largest city of Brazil, and the third largest metropolitan area.
2014 FIFA World Cup Football in Rio de Janeiro.
Rio de Janeiro is the very depiction of Brazilian football with all forms of kick abouts taking on its streets, public parks and vast beaches.
It comes as no surprise, then, that the city is the birthplace of such world-renowned footballers as Jairzinho, Zico, Ronaldo and Romario, to name but a few.
Four of Brazil's biggest and most popular clubs are based in the Cidade Maravilhosa: Botafogo, Fluminense, Vasco da Gama and Flamengo, the club with the country's biggest fan base, of over 30 million aficionados.
Football is like a religion for the cariocas, and its temple is undoubtedly the mythical state-owned Maracana, arguably the most famous and once the largest stadium in the world.
Officially named Mario Filho Stadium, after a famous sports journalist, the Maracana was inaugurated shortly before the 1950 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and hosted five of the home country's six matches in that competition, including the fateful 1-2 loss to Uruguay in the final match of the tournament.
The resounding defeat on 16 July 1950 - dubbed Maracanazo by world champions Uruguay - was to be forever remembered as a national disaster in Brazil.
The Maracana has been completely renewed for the FIFA World Cup, in order to offer absolute comfort while still being the largest stadium in Brazil as a 75,117-seater.
The Engenhão, which was built as a venue for the Pan-American Games in 2007 and will be used in the 2016 Olympic Games, is the home ground of Botafogo. Vasco owns the São Januário, a stadium built in the 1920s that was the largest in the country before the Maracanã was opened.
Innovation doesn't come easy in today's world with plenty of everything. But there're still tons of problems to be solved.
Less than a month to the start of the Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
Renewa has built a 7 MW fluidized bed heating plant in Sotkamo a few years ago. The district heating is delivered to local industries, houses, schools, hotels and recreational facilities by Vapo Bioheat. A new and much bigger CHP unit will be constructed 2014 - 2015.
Christmas is almost over, all the shopping done, it's time to prepare for a happy new year 2014. The picture is from Mammut, Budapest.

So go to the site and join me

Anything from wild bats out of trees
To the judging of birds and bumble bees

Even if you have the flu
Don't go feeling blue
You can still have fun and see something new
From waterfalls to making a shoe
If you are into storm chasing
Or even furniture making
You can watch from when you're first waking
Until your eyes are aching
If you like to watch a whole lot of contests

Paris Nord is one of the six large terminus stations of the SNCF mainline network for Paris, France. It offers connections with several urban transportation lines, including Paris Métro, RER and Buses.
We used to travel frequently back and forth Paris - Colmar - Paris.
The visual landscape has an important role in the search for Winterland snowhow in Sotkamo / Vuokatti.
We've a lot to do in the field of Service Design.
Collaboration with the airlines:
- Finnair
- Korean Air
- JAL
Collaboration with VR (Valtion Rautatiet):
- VR or VR Group is a state-owned railway company in Finland.
- Formerly known as Suomen Valtion Rautatiet until 1922 and Valtionrautatiet / Statsjärnvägarna until 1995.
We need to build a strong hyperlocal network:
- service companies
- transport and logistics
- hotels, accommodation
- food and beverages
- architects and construction companies
- press, media, communication
- sports organizations and associations
- political supporters
- financing of operations and activities
It's a good idea to collaborate with our friends in Lapponia. There is snow, northern lights, mysticism and Father Christmas.

There was a time when people all over Europe were capable to build and construct beautiful wooden constructions.
Today, we say that wooden buildings are too expensive. What happened? Something wrong with our mindset?
Robots could be used to make the cuts and carvings. We've to get in touch with wood again, build a long lasting relationship and deeper understanding about the material.
Let's make public places and buildings beautiful again.
- wood
- stone
- glass
- steel
- aluminum
- etc
The Extraordinary General Meeting of Metso approved the demerger on October 1, 2013.
There will be two differentiated technology companies.
After the demerger Metso's Pulp, paper and power business will form a new company Valmet corporation.
Mining and Construction and Automation business will form the continuing operations of Metso Corporation.
I guess, the Kajaani Metso will continue to operate under the name of "Metso".
What will this mean?
Is the demerger going to boost growth?
Time will show.

When you point the phone’s camera toward a particular location, it displays “points of interest” in that location, such as restaurants, stores, and museums.

Think of a simple augmented reality app on your iPhone such as Yelp Monocle.
But this is just the beginning. What if, instead of restaurant and store information, we could access historical, artistic, demographic, environmental, architectural, and other kinds of information embedded in the real world?
Future: As you walk around with your cell phone, you can point to a site and see what it looked like a century ago, who lived there, what the environment was like.
