Kokkola Industrial Park

Kokkola Industrial Park is an inorganic production site in Scandinavia. Well developed logistical connections, synergy and positive atmosphere for industry have attracted chemical industry to locate in Kokkola.

10968928062?profile=originalAs strongly developing site, new space for industrial activities has been created, and tight network of connections, infrastructure (pipelines, railways, roads..) and services easy establishing and maintaining the chemical production at the site.

The Kokkola Industrial Park is the largest manufacturing site of inorganic chemicals in the Nordic region.

Boliden's zinc plant in Kokkola is one of the largest in the world. Boliden has taken over the zinc production from Outokumpu. Freeport Cobalt runs the cobalt refinery.

The Finnish Kemira sold its fertilizer production operations in Kokkola to the Norwegian Yara, which focuses on fodder phosphate production.
The KIP Association was founded to oversee the rapid transition that the site was going through after Kemira and Outokumpu moved out from the area.

Today, the Port of Kokkola is integrated in the industrial park, even though only a third of goods shipped through the port originate from the factories in the area. One third consists of transit traffic from Russia, while the rest comprises container traffic and general cargo.

Even though all industrial operations have been acquired by multinational companies, not a single one has been closed down; instead the new owners have made large investments.

The companies in the area annually invest around 50 million Euros in modernizations. Furthermore, a combined investment of more than 100 million Euros in new production has been made by a number of companies.

10968928288?profile=originalThe port and its connection to the rail network is KIP's main success factor. We've the same rail gauge in Finland with Russia and China.

HTC, our “Nokia” in Taiwan!

If you see an i-phone, you would know it is an U.S. brand; if you see a Samsung smartphone, you would know it is a S. Korean brand; and if you see a HTC smartphone, you may wonder where it comes from, right? The answer is Taiwan.

What is HTC about? Let’s go back to look at its history:

HTC Corporation (Chinese: 宏達國際電子股份有限公司; pinyinHóngdá Guójì Diànzǐ Gǔfèn Yǒuxiàn Gōngsī), formerly High Tech Computer Corporation, is a Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones and tablets.

10968908480?profile=original

The company has a rich heritage of many "firsts", including creating the first Microsoft-powered smartphone (2002) and the first Microsoft 3G phone (2005). Their first major product was made in 2000 and was one of the world's first touch screen smartphones. The Palm Treo 650 and the iPAQ were created by HTC. They started producing 3G-capable phones in early 2005 and made the world's first Android phone in 2008, the HTC Dream (also marketed as the T-Mobile G1). It was first released in the United States for pre-order through T-Mobile USA on September 23, 2008, and became available in U.S. T-Mobile stores on October 22, 2008.

Compared to Taiwan’s biggest company- Foxconn, HTC is far more important for the exporting and GDP in Taiwan. Due to “MIT,” which means their products are Made In Taiwan (they actually hire people in Taiwan), though their annual revenue is only 1/7 to 1/8 of Foxconn’s, their influence for Taiwan’s economy growth and employment market is enormous.

On 22.5.2012,CommonWealth Magazine ( one of the biggest magazines in Taiwan) points out that, during these three years, the HTC smartphone exporting is the main driver for the export growth in Taiwan. The official number shows that in 2008, the exporting for the sole company is valued 31.6 billion NTD (equals to 842 million Euros) and in 2011, the amount is tenfold- 415 billion NTD (11.06 billion Euros).

In Wikipedia, “in April 2011,the company's market value surpassed that of Nokia to become the third largest smartphone maker in the world, only behind Apple and Samsung.”

Unfortunately, things cannot be always right with HTC. The fourth quarter in 2011, the exporting decreased by 4%, and it keeps worsening, especially the electronic and communication products. The markets that shrink the most are in China and the U.S.. Further, the first quarter of 2012, the revenue severely falls by 35% because of Apple and Samsung. According to the IDC market survey, the sale of Samsung grows 267% since 2011, overtaking Apple as the NO.1 in the smartphone market. On the other hand, the sale of HTC declines by 23.3%.

What’s wrong with HTC then? As a customer, one of my Finnish friends honestly told me that he is very satisfied with his HTC smartphone except one disadvantage- the battery. Once he surfs online, the battery quickly dies ,so he needs to frequently charge it. Besides, if you look at the design of HTC, you cannot tell it is Samsung or another brands. Unlike Apple, which has the most recognizable and elegant design to attract customers, the design of HTC, in my opinion, is slightly disappointing.
10968909265?profile=original

The well-being of HTC is not just about the company itself but the economy growth of Taiwan. That is, it is way too important to fail. How should HTC win customers back? It is an urgent question for HTC and the government to answer.

Testing Live Writer and Ning

elma 159Hello, I?m testing how Live Writer and Ning are working together. I?ve to use a separate computer to handle my Swedish language blogs with Live Writer.

I?m not able to select a category of my Ning blog but that shouldn?t be a big problem. I might focus on news and social reporting from Northeastern Finland, Sotkamo and Kainuu.

But the focus might change during the coming months.

Some other themes will certainly be: mining, minerals, process industries, energy, measurements and environmental control.

We?ve important high-tech companies both in Kainuu and the Oulu Region. It?s my sincere intention to dig into what happens inside these techies.

The social media and blogosphere isn?t very excited up here, but I can write about everything that happens in Finland ? and what should and / or could happen in the future.

It?s spring time in Sotkamo and I?ll spend a part of my time in the garden.

     Interview with Professor Linmi Tao10968919457?profile=original

Chinese have a saying-高瞻遠矚,which means people should see higher and see farer. The research Professor Tao has been doing is a great example of it.
Today, it is our pleasure to have the interview with Professor Linmi Tao (陶霖密) from Beijing about the research to improve the mental health and home care for elderly. As we know, China owns more than one billion population; therefore, before the interview, I assumed that most of care for people in need is done by actual the care givers. Professor Tao pointed out that due to the one-child policy, the structure of population is twisted. That is, the population ages very quickly- way to quickly that they should rely on the technology to fill the gap. With the advanced technology, they can connect the elderly with the service of medical care at lower cost.
During the interview, we got to know that Professor Tao has been actively interacted with Europe. He shared with us that he has an European project with plenty of Europeans, some are from Finland, he emphasized. Moreover, he also mentioned that Oulu University here even offers him a job as a professor. When I googled about Professor Tao, who is the expert of biology, biophysics, computer theories and engineering ,I later found more information about more communication he has had with Europe- in the end of 2000, he participated a project with the E.U, known as “Augmented Reality for Remotely Operated Vehicle for underwater survey and inspection”; in 2001, he was hired as an assistant professor in Verona University of Italy. Through his profession, he really opens the whole world to himself and hence spreads the meaning of the technology to the people- that is, to make life easier.
Nevertheless, some people stick to the way they are used to live. It may be difficult to persuade them to change. For example, the research for mental health also can be applied to help the elderly in China. With some sensors in kitchens, we can clearly see when they cook or heat water, so that easily track if the elderly function well in their daily lives. Some argue that the technology for home care would violate their privacy. How to keep a balance between the technology and privacy is the universal issue that we all should be aware of.
Promisingly, he is positive about the research he has been working on. With the cooperation with some big companies, such as IBM,INTEL,SIEMENS, he knows well how to connect himself with all the resources he needs. The capital, human resources and great ideas are the “ingredients.” Now all he needs is more time to wait for the fruits of the research. We are looking forward to it.

Ps. The audio file about our interview is the link as below:

Introduction

The Covid-19 has brought up a situation where we are confined to our homes. The schools, colleges and the coaching classes everything is under lockdown. We cannot attend classes and have to study from our home itself.

10968938093?profile=original

Under these circumstances, the UPSC has also deferred the Civil Services Prelims examination which had to take place on 3rd of May. Although, the serious aspirants would have already completed their syllabus. But it wouldn’t be true for all the candidates. So, it is the perfect opportunity to either complete what is left or get an extra edge in your preparation.

Study during lockdown

Though studying during lockdown could be a tricky thing for a common student who attends classes or does group study. But it is no big deal for a civil services aspirant. Because, they already remain under self-imposed lockdown during their government examination preparation.

Avoid Group studies

UPSC exam paper is dreaded for syllabus that covers anything under the Sun. So, candidates find it relatively easier to prepare for this exam with help of their fellow candidates and teachers. However, the situation has changed drastically these days. Thus, to keep you safe and healthy avoid meeting in groups and rather help yourself.

Apart from that, try to avoid sharing books as well because we know how contagious this virus is.

Do not go out unnecessarily

Candidates staying away from their homes for the preparation may have leaved their homes to buy ration and all. But it is very necessary to take precautions and avoid social contacts because it may result into a bad situation. Avoid going out for morning or evening walks. Rather listen to some good music or watch any movie to relax between studies.

Try not to Procrastinate

Given the uncertainty we are living in, it is quite possible that a few candidates would indulge themselves in other activities and may leave the work on the next day. This can hamper the preparation, thus try to achieve your daily targets for the best results.

E-learning platforms

Now that all the book shops are closed and it might be difficult to get some reading material. It is best to make use of the e-learning platforms for watching explanatory videos or attempt tests to practice in a better way.

Online Education

Online education is limitless in the sense that there are so many alternatives present for the students that it makes the government examination preparation relatively easier. You can get help of teachers, mentors or fellow students with the help of online education.

Eat healthy stay healthy

Many a times the candidates neglect their health while preparing for the government examinations. It is necessary to eat healthy and stay healthy to not just beat the examinations blues but also to keep the fear of coronavirus at bay. Remember to take vitamins and minerals so as to keep both the brain and immune system ready for the big task.

Preparation for the beginners

This the apt time for the beginners to kick-start their preparation for the coveted civil services examination. But before rushing into the preparation, the candidates must look at some important things. Like, during lockdown, they can thoroughly go through the UPSC CSE exam pattern.

They need to understand the syllabus of UPSC in depth and also the requirements of the UPSC CSE exam pattern. The most important and the difficult task in the preparation of UPSC CSE exam is choosing the optional subject. So, the candidates can fruitfully utilise this time to research which optional subject would help them the most.

Apart from that, the candidates could take help of the internet, to browse through all the important books and material required for the examination. This would take them in the right direction of their preparation.

Seldom any candidates give time to such things, but in long run these things are very important to help your preparation for government exams and get ahead in the list.

Even if you are not a serious aspirant for CSE, you could check whether it is your cup of tea or not during the lockdown phase.

Conclusion

Being a student, we should make use of every opportunity or situation that comes our way. This lockdown phase is no different. Don’t let it get over you and make you lose focus from your studies. Keep doing what you have got to do. UPSC examinations are not something that can be cracked with one- or two-day preparation. Its preparation requires perseverance, endurance and hard work without any excuse. And lockdown cannot be one of the excuses.

For the better introduction and improving the whole essay generally, let’s start with the work plan creation. It helps to systematize the material and ensures consistency of exposition. The plan is made by a student independently or with the help of tutor, considering the work conception. However, despite the variety of individual approaches to the traditional technology essay, the plan is following:

  • Introduction.
  • Chapter 1 (the full name of the chapter).
  • Chapter 2 (full name of this chapter).
  • Chapter 3 (full name of this chapter).
  • Conclusion.
  • List of references.
  • Application (at author’s discretion).10968930665?profile=original

The number of chapters can vary, certainly.

The essay also can have just one chapter – the body.

So,

The introduction and how we can improve it?

Even experienced writers often have some troubles with introductions writing. It seems redundant, because if you describe your idea in the main part of the essay (body of the text), why do we need to repeat it twice? A good introduction - it's more than just the thesis of your essay. Visit essay-writing-services.me in case you need help with it. But while writing your intro by yourself, try to intrigue a reader, outlining the main idea of your work. The introductory text determines how the reader will look at your essay and the bulk, in its turn, will show how justified your arguments are.

The introduction should ground the actuality of your scientific and technology theme, stated aims and the major issues that are expected to be disclosed, to achieve this goal. Here should bealso specified what materials were used while the work was performing. And brief characterization of literature in terms of completeness coverage your chosen topic has to be indicated as well. Furthermore, in the introduction you must specify the methodological basis on which the research will be built. The introduction volume shouldn’t exceed 1 - 2 pages.

Set the right tone. Preamble defines your attitude to the text and establishes a relationship with your reader. From the very beginning, explain that this is a science and technology essay, containing certain technical terms and concepts. Provide the background information and the importance of issue. Present the plan coverage for your particular topic. You should also structure the introduction in the same manner as the main part of your text. If you can describe in few sentences the main points of the essay in the right order, you will give a reader the motivation to go on.

After you’ve created your intro – reread it. If you was interesting by reading that personally - means the introduction was performed qualitatively.

Good luck!

Competitive essay writing services online have a basic standard to comply with and win the confidence of their clients.

However, could there be one of these sites which offer an extra benefit to students?

Which are these benefits which some essay writing services have been able to incorporate?

Find them below; these are quite interesting but very true.

  1. Discounts with referrals

Before you decide to get services from a writing site, you must be satisfied with the quality of their work. The basic needs of a quality paper must be met according to your particular standards.

With that out of the way, there are sits which, apart from offering quality will give you an extra benefit as a client to keep you coming and referring your fellow students.

One website offers discounts for clients who have referred their fellow students to the site. This property does not just benefit you as a client; it also grows the base of the writing company.

The truth of the matter is that you are helping them to grow by referring others to them. They in turn reciprocate this gesture by offering you a discount on your next order placement.

  1. Fair price for first order placements

To encourage new clients to keep coming to the writer website, some sites have opted to lower the price per page for any first time client.

If the client keeps coming to the site, the price will be stabilized in the next assignment, this way the site recovers their money and the client is kept to the site. This is a win win situation.

In most cases, firstimpressions are very important. Each person wants to feel valued, especially the client. This strategy actually works and most students have saved on their first orders on such sites.

  1. Earn points as you order more papers and use them later

As a student, when you place an order for essay online you will find that you do not do it once. An academic journey is long, with years of homework, assignments, essays name it. Sometimes you would like to know that your site appreciates the partnership you have incorporated.

Some British essay writer have decided to allow their clients to earn points whenever they place their orders.

This would benefit the students if he or she accumulates enough points cater for their next order. As a student, you can therefore order for an essay to be written even if you have no money at the moment.

You will be able to redeem your points and use them at such a critical time.

  1. Money refund policy

Most sites do not refund money under whatever circumstance. There are however some websites with British essay writers who offer a refund policy if the essay has not met the standards or led to failure in a course.

The money, however, has a window during which the money can be claimed. For the client you have nothing to lose, if as essay led to your failure you can reclaim it back.

There is one essay writer service with some of these incredible services. Click here to go there. The site has some of the best British essay writers.

Technology War

“ Years and years ago, Chinese invented three things- fireworks, compass, printing and paper. Years and years later, when western countries set off rockets to the space, we are still setting off fireworks! “ My favorite professor once pointed out a fact in a teasing way and the students, including me, laughed aloud. 10968926484?profile=original
My professor was right. The eastern technology used to be dominant for centuries before the industry revolution in 18th century. When the western countries were still in the manor system, the Chinese empire, Yuan Dynasty (13th century), could expand its power across three continents, Asia, Europe and Africa. It is also hard to believe that during the time, western countries needed to assign ambassadors to “worship” Chinese emperors. Since China is such a giant country with lots of resources to be self-sufficiency, she did not need to rely on someone else. On the contrary, the neighbors, even farer countries always needed something from China, the silk, China, tea and some spices.
For the decades, which is the most crucial period for international competition, China isolated herself from others, immersing in an unrealistic fantasy that she was still the super power around the globe. Actually, the Chinese name for China is中國 (Zhōng guó), literally means the country of the center. The way of thinking is one of the reasons that prevented China from making progress in the technology industry.
Then the industry revolution rewrites the whole history of the world. The western countries opened the Asian market by force- the undefeatable weapons blew Asians’ mind. They were shocked, “How can these barbarians beat us up?!” Japan is the first country to wake up and starts the modernization movement, following examples from western countries. Later, Japan was the most developed country in Asia and the second biggest economy in the world.
It takes such a long time for China and other Asian countries to catch up. Nowadays, the world cannot underestimate the Asian market. They want capitals, labors and nature resources from Asia. It sounds really promising , but there is something missing here- the technology .
Except for Japan that already creates a good image about herself, the idea about the modern technology is all from the West. What is the actual value for Asian countries? The global customers are crazy about buying Apple, driving BMW, wearing Gucci and using Google and Facebook. When it comes to similar products from Asia , no matter how good they are, they are all “duplicates.”
